The reason no one has really tackled the anti Irish racism at ibrox is because there is to much money involved, this is OUR club, the reason they started singing Catholics is because they HAD to,the reason they stopped singing the Billy boys and the rest is because they were TOLD to.
And its swept under the ever rising carpet at ibrox that for most of the 70s and 80s the national front and the BNP found a home at ibrox and you can still see the odd Nazi salute there to.

Phil i couldn`t agree more with your article. Racism is racism & rangers should be asked why they do not condemn thier own fans anti irish racism, with the same vigour as they did the maurice edu incident.
The problem lies imo with the scottish media itself, which is anti irish as they know that it`s the moronic element that buy their papers largely.
Groups like srtrc & kick it out should be hounding rangers to condemn the anti irish in their support, but i fear that they will do nothing as usual.

Hi Phil

nice to have you back!

Shocking behaviour as usual from Rangers fans

although us Celtic fans shouldnt throw stones in glass houses. elements of the celtic support have been exposed of racially abusing the same player just a few weeks ago.
http://www.tribalfootball.com/rangers-midfielder-edu-receives-death-threats-305701

Racist abuse also aimed at our own player at Celtic Park

Welcome back Phil. Hope the kids enjoyed a nice summer break.

The double-edged attitude from those within Ibrox certainly rankled with me also.

The official line on the Mo Edu incident was, quite rightly, one of wholehearted and utter condemnation. Compare this with the famine song debacle, when the offical word was along the lines of 'Don't sing it. You might get in trouble'. Why condemn one form of racism and not the other? Are folk still so ignorant that they think racism is merely a colour issue?

Some of the hardcore follow-followers have had a tough week, what with their heroes being embarrassed on Tuesday night followed by another one on national TV on Thursday night!
