Nice book. Talking about male suicide in Ireland is of great importance. Truth is it's not surprising when one considers how men are treated like second class citizens in Ireland. Ask any foreigner from a Western country who has lived here for a while. We Irish guys are just too goddamned nice for our own good. And the law always takes the womens side here. Women get away literely with murder over here.

Congratulations Phil on taking on the issue of suicide in Ireland which particularly affects our young men. I lost a partner a number of years ago to suicide and have seen little development on the issue in the past 10 years. Having bought your book I am working my way through it and it just sums up everything that is going on. Keep up the good work.

When you consider the number of male suicides far outweighs the number of men who die on our roads each year, why do we not see the same level of money spent highlighting this plight and attempting to reduce the problem by government.

As far as I can tell I do not see the issue of male suicide on the agenda of any political party on this Island.

Forgive my scepticism but the reason for this might be that there is not enough votes to be won by tackling this sensitive issue nor money to be made from it....

Can we urge politicians from all parties to acknowledge and tackle this horrific problem as as you rightly state Phil, 'tolerated serial killer'.
