This site started  in the summer of 2006 as an archive of my work in print journalism.

The work stretches back to the 1980s and there is still work to be scanned and uploaded, but we’re getting there.

I continue to be indebted to the quiet genius that is Frank Gribbin of Ocularjigsaw.com

Without Frank this site would not exist.

My ambitions for the site in 2008 was to develop a blog and encourage traffic to the site.

This was a major task for Frank and, as usual, he undertook the work with his usual stoic determination.

The hits to this site started in the hundreds at the start of the year they are now in the hundreds of thousands.

I have a strict policy of not responding to the posts that I approve on the site.

That policy will continue in 2009.

That does not mean that I am disinterested in their content or ungrateful for the time people take to post on the site.

I am very committed to the  online community I am trying to nurture here and my thanks goes to all of you who have posted on the site this year.

My rules for approving posts in 2008 have been fairly simple.

Everything will be approved unless it is abusive, libellous or badly written.

Those will continue to be the rules in 2009.

So from Ireland’s western seaboard I trust that all of you and those close to you will have enjoy a happy and peaceful 2009.
